Win This: Custom Dirtbag Darling X Sandalista Flip Flops

Photo on flip flops by B. Scherzberg
Up until the time I was 18 and discovered other warm-weather footwear options, I would wear a pair of flip flops every single day. Every. Single. Day. In fact, my big toe is actually really far away from my other toes because of it. That's probably a little TMI though.

Still, I learned to appreciate a quality pair of flip flops that wouldn't fall apart after a couple beach trips. That's why I'm head-over-heels for Sandalista. Sandalista let's you design your own custom pair of comfy flip flops using your own photos and images. Or you can choose from hundreds of designs from top surf artists like Drew Brophy, Jay Alders and Colleen Wilcox!

Sandalista designed Dirtbag Darling a pair of custom flip flops using one of my favorite images from a trip out West...and I'm giving it to one of you! Just tell me your favorite beach in the comments below and you're entered to win (don't forget to include your email address).

This sweepstake is now closed.

  3. Growing up I'd go to Jones Beach in Long Island when I visited my grandmother but let's be real, that isn't as beautiful as the beaches in Greece...Mykonos blew my mind and because of the clear, bright blue, water you can see your toes perfectly in, that is the kind of beauty that makes it my new favorite!

  4. My family would go to Cape Cod, Massachusetts off seasons, which is really quaint and quiet. I love New England in the fall-winter. The air is fresher and feels much cooler than in New York. I love taking walks along the beach and collecting tiny seashells.
However amazing the beaches at Cape Cod are, my favorite beach is in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It's called Luquillo Beach and it's 2 hrs away from my house but it is worth it. The beach is beautiful with pale white sand and never-ending calm blue waters. It is dotted with fallen coconuts seashells, and beer bottles (:P). There are a lot of palm trees and even more tourists and swimming drunk people. There is a coral reef and the El Yunque Rainforest nearby (which has amazing waterfalls and fun hiking trails).

  5. Though I have been fortunate enough to stay for extended periods of time in some of the places with the most gorgeous ocean views: Surfing in Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia, volunteering in an orphanage near Juan Dolio, Dominican Repbulic, travelling through Peru and seeing beach meet skyline in Lima, my heart belongs at home in small town, Ontario, Canada. It is a little place called Ipperwash Beach on Lake Huron. It is the most amazing beach because there isn't a rock in sight, and you have to walk out for a really long time before it starts to get deep. As a child I would spend the whole day playing in the shallow water with my grandma. Its where I learned to swim, to water ski, and where I can't wait to do some SUPing. They say home is where your heart is, and home for me is relaxing in the sand watching clouds go by, drying off after a nice swim with family. calderso at lakeheadu dot ca
